DESDEMONA (DESorientation DEMONstrator Amst) is the motion simulator with the most comprehensive motion capabilities. It combines a centrifuge design for continuous G-forces with five additional degrees of freedom, creating the ideal simulator for motion-critical scenarios simulating extreme and complex maneuvers that standard hexapod simulators cannot offer.
Immersive motion simulation is the main use of the Desdemona simulator. We have collaborated with the Center for Man in Aviation (Royal Netherlands Air Force) to create courses for military aircrew. Additionally, we work with the Netherlands Institute for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) to focus on perception and human factors research.

Desdemona is designed for:
- Spatial disorientation training (basic course, advanced courses, refreshers).
- Advanced military flight simulation, including highly complex jet fighter motion (deep stall, inverted deep stall), helicopter operations in adverse circumstances (difficult and dangerous environments, such as brownout landings), and upset recovery training for transport aircraft pilots.
- Research on human motion perception and the development of optimal motion cueing (also for the use and design of other simulators).
Other uses
The Desdemona simulator can be used in various fields such as civil aviation, general aviation, space travel (like creating artificial gravity and training astronauts), maritime industry, and the automotive industry. Other groups interested in the human balance system and motion sickness, such as the pharmaceutical industry and roller coaster manufacturers, can also take advantage of the opportunities provided by Desdemona.
